Smoke in the Mirror: A Personal History of Eastern NC Tobacco Country

Michael grew up in Rocky Mount, NC, where money was measured in stacks of flue-cured tobacco. His father was a banker, and he tells the story of  Tobacco Town through the eyes and memories of a twelve-year old growing up in the sixties with a friend who was the son of a tobacco farmer.
